The start of nothing
Last year, at about this time, I was in a much much more excited state. I had gotten through to a second round of interviews with a company that I fancied. I had already pictured myself rocking the company branded sweatshirt and the rest of the offered merchandise. Perhaps I was too naïve and optimistic, to assume that such a reality was possible for me at the time.
After I did a technical task for the company, I didn't hear from them for a few days, then a few weeks, by the time a month went by I knew that I had been ghosted. A side note for the demographic reading this that do not understand the term ghosting. This is when someone acts in a similar manner to a phantom, in a manner that at some point you see them and are actively engaging them. In the midst of your activity they suddenly stop responding and vanish.
I'm sure many of us have a tale or too about such ghastly occurrences in our lives. There's a sour taste that remains when something seemingly so full of potential never realises. Just think about all the ideas you've had that only remained as ideas. Out of the tens of thousands of thoughts, that one has in a single day alone, verily so there could be an idea. An idea so unique to your beautiful mind, that when you birth it into the world it could be revolutionary.
Imagine all the experiences and lessons that one misses out on , owing to the fact that they did not pursue a goal they had set for themselves. Far too often I myself have been folly to this too, resigning from dreams far too easily. What I have seen in my own case, is that I want things to go perfectly according to how it is envisioned in my head. That's unfortunately not how life works most of the time.
A scripture comes to mind,
Ecclesiastes 11:4 NLT
Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest.
Perfect conditions will probably never appear right when you need them. So go for it anyway.
I can't remember where I read it, but there's a quote that says the best time to have started doing something was five years ago and the net best time after that is today. So don't ghost your dreams or else they're haunt you.
